New Hope Community Development Specialist Jeff Alger was recognized for his contributions to the West Metro Fire-Rescue District. Chief Sarah Larson awarded him the Chief’s Commendation Award at the Oct. 14 New Hope City Council meeting.
Captain Jake Wheeler nominated Alger for the award, emphasizing his invaluable partnership and contributions to the West Metro Fire District over the past few years. The nomination described how Alger has worked with the department to notify them of training opportunities at properties acquired by the City of New Hope as part of the City’s Scattered Site Housing Program.
Chief Larson stated, “These structures and houses are of indispensable value to public safety. Nothing else simulates the structures we respond to quite like the structures we respond to. His contributions to the community extend beyond his position title and contribute to the safety and health of the citizens and employees of the City of New Hope.”
