Minnesota Energy Assistance Program - Heat and Electricity
The Minnesota Energy Assistance Program helps households pay for heat and electricity costs. The program is free for those who are eligible, whether a renter or homeowner. Eligibility is based on a sliding scale that takes into account household size and income for the past three months. For instance, a family of four, could earn up to $62,822 annually and still qualify for the program.
Payments for energy bills are sent directly to the billing company. The benefits average around $500 per household, and can be up to $1,400.
The deadline for applications is May 31, 2024.
