New Hope's finance staff is part of the HR and Administrative Services Department and is responsible for all financial accounting and reporting functions for the City. Since 2008, the City has contracted with Abdo Financial Solutions for finance director responsibilities.
The finance department also:
- Develops and prepares the annual budget.
- Performs purchasing, risk management and insurance administration functions.
- Implements financial controls and reporting methods.
- Processes accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash disbursements, payroll and utility billing.
- Executes debt service analysis and bond payments.
- Manages loan programs and special tax projects, such as tax increment financing.
- Prepares the long-range financial plan, including a ten-year capital replacement plan that addresses infrastructure operations and maintenance needs.
- Supports the City Council and City departments.
