Mayor John Elder (2025-2028)
Mayor Elder was elected as Mayor of New Hope in 2024, following several terms of dedicated service on the City Council. He was first appointed to the Council in May 2008 to fill a vacant seat and was later elected in a special election that November to complete the remaining two years of the term. He was subsequently re-elected to four-year terms in 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022. A resident of New Hope for more than 25 years, Mayor Elder brings a deep understanding of the community and a long-standing commitment to public service.
Mayor Elder has been actively involved in the community for many years. His volunteer work includes supporting youth and public safety programs such as the Police Explorers, Wings Soccer Club and Minnesota Thunder West Academy. He has also served as a commissioner for the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Commission and was a board member of the New Hope Community Farmer’s Market.
With over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Mayor Elder has served in various roles with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, Lakeville Police Department, New Hope Police Department, Minneapolis Police Department and Isanti County Sheriff's Office. He currently serves as a captain with the Robbinsdale Police Department.
He holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminology from North Hennepin Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Police Science and a Master of Arts in Public Safety Administration, both from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Council Member Kyle Coryell (2025-2026)
The City Council appointed Council Member Coryell in January 2024 to fill a vacant seat. Coryell grew up in the area and is a Robbinsdale Cooper High School alumnus. She lived in New Hope since 2021.
Coryell holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctorate in Pharmacy, both from the University of Minnesota. Currently, she works as a medication therapy management pharmacist at North Memorial Health.

Council Member Michael Isenberg (2020-2028)
Council Member Isenberg was elected to the City Council in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. He has lived in New Hope since 2005.
Isenberg serves on the Board of Directors for the West Metro Fire-Rescue District and the New Hope Crime Prevention Fund. He is also a member of the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids Campus Foundation Board. Previously, he served on the New Hope Citizen Advisory Commission and was part of the West Metro Fire-Rescue District Community Emergency Response Team. Additionally, he was a member of the Space Needs Task Force for the new city hall and police department facility and contributed to committees for the new Civic Center Park and New Hope Aquatic Park.
Professionally, Isenberg is a senior business analyst at Insight and holds a bachelor's degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Council Member Jonathan London (2015-2026)

Council Member London was elected to his first term in 2014 and reelected to another four-year term in 2018 and 2022. He has lived in New Hope since 1976.
London’s community involvement includes serving on the New Hope
Citizen Advisory Commission, and Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School.
London is an investment advisor for Oakwood Capital, Inc.
He has a BBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in
accounting, economics and finance and an International Business
Certificate.
