CenterPoint Energy will upgrade natural gas infrastructure in parts of New Hope this spring and summer. These improvements aim to enhance safety, increase reliability, and maintain dependable service. Construction will take place in multiple areas of the city:
- 53rd Avenue: Beginning this spring, CenterPoint Energy and authorized contractors will upgrade the natural gas infrastructure along 53rd Avenue. Scattered service work to select homes will also occur during this work. This work may last up to 12 weeks.
- 62nd Avenue North: Starting around May 4, 2026, CenterPoint Energy and authorized contractors will upgrade the natural gas infrastructure along 62nd Avenue. This work may last up to two months.
During construction, residents can expect to see utility crews and authorized contractors in the area. All contractors will carry CenterPoint Energy identification, and residents are encouraged to ask for ID before allowing anyone into their home.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Most traffic impacts will include temporary restrictions on street parking, closure of one sidewalk at a time and lane shifts. Crews will work with property owners to maintain access to homes and businesses. Any additional impacts or road closures will be communicated as they occur.
