South Water Tower Repainting

May 1, 2025: Due to weather related delays this week, the contractor will be working on setting up the containment system this weekend on both Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4. Once the containment system is installed, sand blasting and painting operations will begin.

April 14, 2025:
The contractor Classic Protective Coatings will begin work on this project April 21, weather permitting.

Overview:
The New Hope, Crystal, and Golden Valley Joint Water Commission will be repainting the south water tower located at 2801 Hillsboro Avenue. The project includes removing the existing paint and repainting both the interior and exterior of the tower. A protective curtain will be placed around the tower during this work to contain debris and prevent overspray from leaving the site. In addition, the contractor will replace several water valves and a fire hydrant at the tower location while the repainting is in progress.

Schedule:
The project is scheduled to begin in April 2025 and be completed by fall 2025, weather permitting. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., with occasional Saturday work between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
