The City of New Hope has released the results of its 2025 City Services Survey, showing residents’ perspectives on essential services, including public safety, snowplowing and road conditions and more.

The annual survey received responses from 529 residents, representing an approximately six percent increase in participation compared to 2024. The results provide City officials with valuable insights into the effectiveness of services and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Surveys were distributed with July utility bills and were also available online and at City Hall through October 1.

KEY FINDINGS

  • Safety First: An impressive 93% of respondents categorized their overall feeling of safety in the city as "very safe" or "somewhat safe," an increase from 91% in 2024.
  • Infrastructure Improvements: Satisfaction with road conditions saw a positive trend. 78% of residents rated the condition of city roads as "excellent" or "good" (up from 75% in 2024), and 76% gave high marks to county roads (up from 74%).
  • Winter Maintenance: The City's snowplowing services continue to be a point of pride, with 84% of respondents rating the quality as "excellent" or "good," a slight increase from the previous year.
  • Community Engagement: 58% of residents feel "excellent" or "good" about their opportunities to provide input and feedback to the City.
  • The overall quality of city services received an "excellent" or "good" rating from 78% of respondents.

DIRECT RESIDENT ENGAGEMENT
The survey provided residents with the opportunity to request direct follow-up from City staff regarding their comments or concerns. Fifty-three residents requested a callback, and overall, residents expressed appreciation for the personal outreach and the City's willingness to address their specific questions.

Detailed survey results will be incorporated into the City’s annual Performance Measurement Report submitted to the Office of the State Auditor.
